How to qualify for Pokémon Worlds
Earn Championship Points at Regionals, Specials and Internationals, then finish high enough on your rating-zone CP leaderboard — or win a Regional/Special for a direct invite.
The path
A simple ladder — start at step 1 and climb.
- Local & League — Play! Pokémon events build experience; CP starts at Championship Series events.
- Regionals & Specials — Biggest CP payouts outside Internationals. Regional/Special Champions get a direct Worlds invite.
- Internationals — Three Internationals (LAIC, EUIC, NAIC) with large CP and Day 2 finishes.
- CP leaderboard — End-of-season invitations by rating zone and age division.
- Worlds — Singapore, August 2027.
In plain English
The Play! Pokémon Championship Series awards Championship Points (CP) at Regional, Special and International Championships. At the end of the season, a set number of players from each rating zone and age division (Junior, Senior, Masters) earn a Worlds invitation from the CP leaderboard. Regional and Special Champions also get a direct invitation regardless of their final CP total.
What to do
- Get set up
You need a Pokémon Trainer Central / Trainer Club account in good standing with Play! Pokémon, and you register for most Regionals on RK9.
- Play Championship Series events
Regionals and Specials pay the same CP table. Internationals pay more. Keep your Best Finish Limit in mind: only your best five finishes across Regionals, Specials and Internationals count.
- Chase a direct invite
Win your age division at a Regional or Special Championship and you get a Worlds invite on the spot. Top finishes at Internationals and the previous Worlds also matter for invites and Travel Awards — check the official season page for the current list.
- Climb your rating-zone board
Your home rating zone is where you earn toward Travel Awards and the Worlds CP cut. For TCG in 2027 the published invitation slots are: USA & Canada and Europe 100 JR / 100 SR / 140 MA each; Latin America 75 / 75 / 125; Oceania 15 / 15 / 20; Middle East & South Africa 5 / 5 / 10.

- Exact CP thresholds for each slot are set by the final leaderboard, not a fixed point total published in advance.
- Japan, Korea, mainland China and parts of Asia-Pacific use separate organized-play systems and are not on the CP invitation table above.
